Leadership
The 1st Annual Lollipop Run I participated in, which benefited the Nevada Children's Center. This represented leadership throughout my first semester of occupational therapy school as I encouraged classmates to participate in this 5k run, raising funds for a local foundation. The Nevada Children's Center supports young victims of abuse, neglect, and mental functions and were thrilled to have Touro University students participate and support the cause. This picture that was taken by founders of the Nevada Children's Center and was posted in the facility. We were asked to come back next year, which gave me a sense of warmth to feel united as a part of the community. This represents leadership as a student of Touro University Nevada, being proactive within the community. I was touched when we were asked to participate again next year, motivating me to spread the word to other students. After fellow classmates saw pictures from the run, they asked me of any other runs I was going to participate in as well as details about the lollipop run. I explained other events that I anticipate in participating in within the community, motivating peers to join.
