During 4th semester, my fieldwork took place in the home
health setting. I was instructed to develop an occupational profile and
intervention plan based off a client of choice selected during the allotted time.
This assignment involved multiple steps beginning with an occupational profile consisting
of the client’s past medical history, living arrangements, concerns, complaints,
diagnosis and other contributing factors leading to occupational therapy
services. Goals were developed based on the client’s needs and level of function.
Scholarly articles were found to support proposed interventions, which
consisted of an extensive search throughout the process. I feel that I gained
an abundant amount of knowledge throughout this process and feel this paper was
beneficial assignment to ensure students are competent in the understanding
of occupational therapy. This assignment
gave individuals the opportunity to receive feedback from instructors before
level II fieldworks begin in semester 5. It is essential that research is used
when implementing interventions to understand the history and use of
interventions so clients are provided with the best treatment.
